Further Global Presence KOTUG in Asia

A partnership is established between Kotug Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. and Johor Port Berhad following on from Johor Port Berhad’s RFP exercise to select the right partner for the provision of maritime towage services in Johor Port area and other identified areas. The strategic collaboration with KOTUG is in line with JPB’s commitment to provide the most efficient marine services to its customers.

Key priorities for Johor Port in the decision to partner with KOTUG was to find a partner who could deliver innovative, efficient and safe operations by means of the revolutionary Rotortug® technology supported by KOTUG’s company management system and dedicated crew. The combined expertise and resources of JPB and KOTUG is expected to attract strong interest from new and existing customers to utilise the wide-range maritime services and benefit from the immense value of their shipping operations.

KOTUG ASIA Sdn. Bhd. will be engaged in Harbour and Terminal Towage, Coastal and Deep Sea Towage, Emergency Response & Salvage Operations, assistance to Offshore and Ship to Ship operation services and the provision of training in relation to the crew on maritime craft.

During the coming months a start will be made in Malaysia with the revolutionary Rotortug®, pioneered by KOTUG, featuring three separate azimuth propulsion units to provide improved vessel safety, power, efficiency and manoeuvrability.

This major achievement follows after KOTUG’s recent start-up in Brunei, where the company provides exclusive terminal towage activities with three powerful Rotortugs®. Supported by local Bruneian management, KOTUG is assisting all LNG vessels at the Brunei LNG Terminal for Brunei Shell Petroleum Company.

As a leading operator, KOTUG is committed to invest continuously in further developments of her global presence in order to add value to the maritime industry.
