NOORDSTROOM in full swing with dredging equipment

After delivery “Sauger III” at her homeport Hamburg, the Noordstroom / IMO 9771705 was heading back to the Netherlands. This triple-srew multipurpose tug/workboat, with a total output of 2.910 bkW / 3.957 bHp (56.0 BP) owned by Van Wijngaarden Marine Services was being prepared for her next job. The towage of the BhD “Dinopotes”. Last week, arriving in the port of Rotterdam, seen the HLV “Rolldock Sea” coming from Nassau, Bahama’s. Loaded with dredging equipment (e.g. 1 Backhoe dredger and 2 splithopperbarges). 

The Noordstroom was assigned for the towage from Rotterdam (Waalhaven) to Beverwijk, assistance on the river to Hook of Holland was done by the Scheldestroom. On arrival the tow was delivered to her new owners. (The inland pusher/launch Vliestroom was handling the barges: “G501 & G502”) After recovering the towinggear of the Noordstroom, the crew was preparing the 145m2 deck for her next task. The towage of another Backhoe dredger from Portsmouth (UK) to Spain.
