Smit Orca sold to Aliaga breakers

It is reported that the Belgium registered with call sign ORNX tug; anchor handling; diving and Salvage operated Smit Orca (Imo: 8213885) has been sold to the Aliaga breakers.

The vessel owned by Boskalis Offshore Marine Services BV – Papendrecht; Netherlands and managed by Unie van Redding en Sleepdienst NV – Antwerpen; Belgium was built in 1983 by Scheepswerf & Motorenfabriek Barkmeijer Stroobos BV – Stroobos; Netherlands under yard number 224 and delivered to Smit Tak Internationaal Bergingsbedrijf BV – Rotterdam as Orca. In 1986 renamed Smit Orca. In 1992 sold to Takmarine BV – Hoek of Holland. In 2003 to Smit Transport Europe BV – Rotterdam.

She has a length of 49.87 mtrs a beam of 11.79 mtrs and a depth of 4.73 mtrs. The two 7 cylinder Brons-MAN diesel engines rated a total output of 1,402 kW (1,904 bhp) with a free sailing speed of 11,3 knots and a bollard pull of 30 tons. She has a grt of 835 tons a nrt of 250 tons and was classed Bureau Veritas.
