Norwegian Oil Platform evacuated partly after accident

Oslo (ANP) – In the North Sea off the Norwegian coast is a Norwegian oil and gas platform partially evacuated after a major incident? One of the two security systems to prevent explosions begged off, the Norwegian energy group Statoil made it known last Friday in a press release. At the drilling hole an irregular pressure was observed. According to Statoil, there is no leak. The company said that they are busy to normalize the situation after the problem occurred on Thursday. Nearly ninety people on the platform were taken to safety. The environmental organization Bellona is deeply concerned about this incident. By an uncontrolled pressure a serious accidents can happen, says the chairman.
