Harrison Brothers Dry Dock & Repair Yard will discontinue its shipyard and drydock operations

by Hans | May 16th, 2012

Harrison Brothers Dry Dock & Repair Yard, Inc., owned and operated by the Harrison family since 1895 and possibly the oldest family shipyard in America, will discontinue its shipyard and drydock operations.

On behalf of our current and past employees and family, we sincerely thank our customers, suppliers and friends, who have made our business a rich and rewarding passion over the past 117 years.  It has been an honor to serve the inland waterways and vessels from around the world.  We feel blessed to have a business that could touch many lives and promote marine commerce in many ways.

We are receiving offers for our marine equipment (including two drydocks, derrick barges, tugs, floats and support equipment) and we are presently discussing the long-term ground leasing of our two Port of Mobile riverfront properties with interested parties (no agents, please).  Our hopes are that our equipment and properties can continue to serve marine operations, and we look forward to our future as a land leasing interest.

For further information, please contact Bill Harrison at 251-432-4606, 251-232-3810, or visit the News tab at www.harrisonbrothers.com
